Heading to the E
5th Av. stairs, going down. To the right of subject is a jewelry shop and to the left a newsstand. Further down is a Subway's sandwich shop and in front is a frame shop that sells a lot of Warhol reprints. That shop cashes in on tourist traffic going to MoMA half a block away. I see Jackie or Marilyn or Elvis in the shop window daily.
Evening commute - cannot wait for the spring when living is easier.

Twenty Nine Winks
E train nap last night during rush hour commute....lucky seat on a crowded train. I continue to study psychedelic concert posters form the mid to late 1960s....this has a bit of an acid tinge.
"Dark star crashes, pouring its light into ashes.
Reason tatters, the forces tear loose from the axis.
Searchlight casting for faults in the clouds of delusion.
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?
Mirror shatters in formless reflections of matter.
Glass hand dissolving to ice petal flowers revolving.
Lady in velvet recedes in the nights of goodbye.
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?"

Old and New
I have decided to post my Blackeberry New York subway images separately from those for Penn Station. Here are two BBs - the top image was taken on the 5th Avenue E train platform a few weeks ago when I was experimenting with a dirty lens. The one below was taken last night at Herald Square station near the token booth.
Subway tokens are no longer used but I still call them token booths.
This blog is named after a baseball World Series between two new York teams where fans could use subways to get to all games. Before 19657 it was the New York Yankees (the Bronx Bombers) against the Brooklyn Dodgers or the New York Giants. Now It would be the Yankees against the New York Mets. The Yankees won the last time they played. It is a relatively rare event.....
